  1. YES

I believe they should be named and shamed

    then caught and shot

    filthy basturds

  2. I actually caught one out 23 years ago he was abusing his 3 year old daughter, fortunately he was committed and ended up spending time in broadmoor, I am sure he is probably back on our streets, I know not where. I just hope the authorities do and keep tabs on him to protect the young in his area

  3. no because it would lead to mobs forming and attacking the perpetrator as has happened in the past - this means that the paedophile goes underground and is percieved as a victim, better for the police to know and watch and for everyone to look after their children and to question the motives of anyone who tries to befriend them.

  4. Yes they should . Too many times the law protects the criminals and misses the innocent completely. We had the boss of a paedophile ring living not far from us in Stockton . And to look at him you wouldn't think so . He came across so intelligent and articulate . When arrested he treated the whole thing as funny

  5. Unfortunately, these leads to a certain vigilantism.

The problem is i think people see these perverts as having perpetrating a crime and then getting away with it. Regardless of impulsion, etc, child molestation is the most heinous of crimes and should be treated with the contempt it deserves.

The number of re-offending paedophiles should be enough to alert the authorities to do something a bit more about it all.

  6. yes ofcourse

  7. They do, everywhere, everywhere in the world. That's why you always have to be vigilant and educate your kids and have a secret password so they don't fall for that stranger trick of "Your mommy/daddy's hurt in the hospital and they asked me to bring you there:" or "I lost my puppy can you help me find him?"

  8. Yes I do. It would be Sarahs Law, as campaigned for by Sara Payne mother of Sarah, killed by the paedophile Roy Whiting.

  9. Make sure you're on your toes. Paedophiles are sly b******s. And don't for one minute think your kid's safety is a government priority. That could infringe poor Gary's human rights.

  10. That is so weird the tv just said that as i read it .... "Gary Glitter" I read "Gary Glitter"

I would love that second name lol

Soz this isnt an answer just thot i would say

  11. yes, but they wont because we would drive them out causing them problems. it's all about making things easier for them not protecting the public. we need to put them all on an island until they die or leave them in prison. these beasts cannot be released into the general public.

  12. i don't have children so i don't care. my previous girlfriend i convinced her to have an abortion to stop the paedophiles having their wicked way with our child

have an abortion stop a child molester

  13. dam right we should know who they are,

who are they protecting the kids or the

or the perverts? makes me sick, castrate

    all of them.

  14. That's a very difficult question.  As far as the law is concerned when someone finishes his sentence he has served his time and goes back into the community.   The problem with a paedophile is, where can you put him in the community where he's not around children.

Children must make up a large part of the population.  I would think that at least one house in 6 must have a child in it - someone under the age of 16, that is.  I think it would be difficult to walk more than 400 yards without seeing either a school or a playground, playing field etc.    It would be almost impossible to house a paedophile away from children.

At the same time if you notify members of the public that there is a paedophile in their midst then the obvious will happen - he will be targeted for vandalism, assaults and will very possibly end up with police protection.   It's more likely though that he will break parole and go 'underground', move to a place where he is not known by anyone and no one is keeping an eye on him.   Then, when there is no police or parole or psychiatric supervision he is more likely to re-offend.

While I'm not keen on the current method of dealing with known paedophiles, it certainly seems to be the only workable one until medical science can come up with some alternative solution.

What worries me more than the paedophiles who have been convicted, there are at LEAST 5 times as many out there who have not yet been caught.

  15. yes we should most definitely know..one was getting housed near us..right in the middle of 2 primary schools and a kids swing park.. a perverts heaven....what in gods name do these people think they are playing at putting this scum back on the streets at all..in my opinion they should all be given a lethal injection and left to rot somewhere..scum of the earth is what they are..suffice to say this beast in now housed elsewhere under police protection..disgusting that the perpetrator gets more rights than the victims do..

beg to differ albert..if we knew the true extent of what lived in our community it is horrifying....i know for a fact there are far more than we are led to believe

  16. The only way to guard against people (animals) like Gary s*****r is to keep  an watchful eye on your kids 24 hrs a day !  You can't be 'over-protective' over your children with animals like those around.

  17. Big T is one of the rare people capable of looking at it as a grown-up, and is spot on with what he writes.

The poisoned atmosphere of paranoia and stabbing at shadows is doing nobody any good, least of all the kids terrified to venture away from their bedrooms and the internet just in case one of Them slipped through the net.

The few dozen real nutters are either in prison or are being carefully monitored by professionals.  The others are easily avoided with a bit of commonsense. When I was at school, we all knew the PE teacher who took pictures of boys in the shower, took pains to avoid him, and got on with life.   I think it would have harmed us far more if there was a great hysterical campaign and a mob outside the school baying for his balls.

One day they might come for us.

  18. Gary Glitter is slang for a toilet.

at last the cockneys have got one right lol x

  19. One of the big problems with paedophiles is what to do with them.  Once they've served their time, they need to live somewhere and they need to be monitored, but the trouble with letting everyone know where they live is that there are plenty of people out there who think they have the right to attack and kill people who have committed certain crimes.  How they balance this with concerned parents who would really like to know so they can warn their children, I don't know.  Anyhow, despite what the press say, there are very few paedophiles in the country and you'd certainly know if Gary Glitter moved next door.

  20. Some of your respondents have shown, exactly, why "Sarah's Law" would be a bad idea in this country.

Some, no matter how few, of those who have been found guilty of sexual offences against children, are undoubtedly innocent.

As to the truly guilty ones, if you introduce that law, then some of the people above this answer will hound and persecute them to the extent that they choose to vanish. Instead of being monitored and supervised they would then be free to do whatever they wanted to do. If they didn't vanish, they would have to be moved elsewhere for their own safety, at great cost and without achieving anything other than their removal from one town to another.

Those people who would hound them would, themselves, be acting criminally. Would they consider it reasonable that they were criminalised for their acts? I don't think so, but criminal they would be.

On the whole, I think it would be a really bad idea for the public to have access to that information.

It might be useful to reflect that the overwhelming majority of abuse is carried out within the family, or by people who are very close to the family. Very little is carried out by strangers. Uncomfortable, but true.

The best defence against paedophiles is reasonable supervision of your children, teaching them properly (without instilling needless fear) about "good" and "bad" touch, and encouraging openness and freedom to talk within your family.

  21. Gary Glitter is innocent

  22. Absolutely, they dont deserve privacy, they should all be moved to a colony like a lepper one, then get some gasoline and a nice powerful flame thrower........and I think we know where this is going, and any moron that says human rights should answer how they would feel if it was their daughter or son

  23. Yes, we should, I think we have a right to keep our children safe..

  24. lock them up and make sure they never get out again.

  25. It seems to be the 21st century version of witch-hunts, crazily people seem to think that the crime of looking at pictures of underage naked people (and I agree it is and should be a crime) is somehow worse than murder. Anybody suspected of paedophilia is subject to torrents of abuse, whereas anybody suspected of killing their child in Portugal seems to be given celebrity status.  People seem to have their priorities mixed up.

Big T should be given best answer status.
