Garryvoe George and Sparta Bama to compete in the Pam Bartram Memorial Trophy
Two hard to ignore entries in the Grade OR Pam Bartram Memorial Trophy are, Garryvoe George and Sparta Bama. The two will be accompanied by four more entries in the 515 metres flat challenge on Thursday, 15th November at Hove. The prize money
set for the race is £175. Taking off from the first trap in line is, Airtech Alfie, and taking flight from the other end is, Peggys Prince.
The 5 to 4 shot for the race, Garryvoe George, is trained by one of the best in the profession, Seamus Cahill. His streak that could have easily notched four, stayed to a hat-trick as he qualified as the runner-up in the most recent outing.
Black Shaw’s son was dominant in a Grade A2 515 metres flat race on 18th October at Hove. The sixth trap made the most of the wide end, kept up with the charge of the track for first half of the trip. The black hound came on in the lead once again,
this time from the fourth position, and settled the race in 30.07 seconds.
Losing the chance by a short head’s mark was, Tullna Puma.
The two-year-old struck a back-to-back in a Grade A2 515 metres flat race on 24th October, 2012 at Hove. Racing from the same gate, he took off slowly, got crowded, but broke free in time, and ran in for the wire from the third position. He was
on the other end of the wire in 30.05 seconds and kept the runner-up, Seven Of Spades, adrift by the mark of a length.
Hat-trick for the two-year-old came from the same trap as he set into a high gear early on and saved ground on the wide end, not waiting for long to take on the lead. It took him 30.03 seconds to sail across the wire.
In comparison, Sparta Bama, won a Grade OR before his training session, and then qualified as the runner-up in the very recent one.
Crash’s black and white dog, Sparta Bama, finished just next to the best in the Coral Hove Maiden on 8th November, 2012 at Hove. The fifth trap lost by a neck’s mark.
He is backed by 9 to 4 odds for tonight.
