Gary Anderson ready to capitalise home ground presence
The flying Scotsman of darts Gary Anderson is looking forward to capitalise the home presence he has for the McCoy Premier League getting underway in Aberdeen from Thursday.
The Scottish darts player won the Premier League in the year 2011 after starting as a debutant.
However, he showed a sudden slump in his performance when he lost his campaign opening match against Kevin Painter by 8-6 at Manchester Arena.
He himself acknowledged that, saying, "Last week was really disappointing for me".
Anderson continued, "I wanted to make a good start to the season and didn't do that, but Thursday's a new game. I've not been happy with my form recently but I'm improving and hopefully Andy will bring the best out of me".
Painter, on the other hand, will be launching his campaign at the Premier League against the 15-time champion and his arch-rival Phil Taylor at the beginning of the event.
It is important to mention here that while Painter will be making his debut at the Premier League, Taylor already has a record of winning it a couple of times in his victory laden career.
Moreover, he is at present in good form after his duo with Lewis materialised in helping England secure the World Cup of darts recently.
In addition to this, ‘The Power’ was able to clinch 5-0 victory in an enthralling encounter against the reigning champion and his former World Cup companion Adrian Lewis.
Taylor said that even though his encounter was tough, he is all set to perform much better than this. He further added that in his upcoming encounters he will be able to deliver the best his audience expects from him.
The power of darts is already eyeing a tough clash to take place between Painter and him.
He commented, "Kevin got a good result too last week and he knows that we're both playing well, so it should be a great game on Thursday".
Apart from this, Lewis will be meeting five-time champion Raymond van Barneveld on the oche. He can only hope to regain his form by that time.
The excitement of darts will continue to prevail with Whitlock clashing with recently recovered James Wade. Experts believe that all these matches will definitely be a must watch.
