http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gary-Cahill-c14439 has admitted it will be a little strange to face his former side Bolton Wanderers on Saturday at Stamford Bridge in the English Premier League fixture.
The 26-year-old transferred to the London club in the January transfer window for an estimated fee of 7 million pounds from Bolton Wanderers. Cahill joins Blues at a crucial time when they are without skipper and first team defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Terry-c18895.
While he has so far only made just three starts for Chelsea, one in each competition the Blues are currently participating in, namely the FA Cup, English Premier League and the UEFA Champions League. He can now be expected to make more starts since Terry
is sidelined with an injury.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international admitted it would be strange to face Bolton Wanderers in the English Premier League since he was not completely out of the Trotters mindset.
Cahill said while speaking to Chelsea TV:
“It is really quick since I have come here to be playing Bolton so it will be strange, no doubt about that.”
Cahill urged his new teammates to take his former side seriously since they were very serious about their football, especially now since they had been thrown in the relegation battle. Bolton Wanderers are currently second from bottom on the Premier League
table.
He revealed:
“Some of the players who are in the squad now try to play football and move the ball quickly, as opposed to just route one, but they have still got that option with players like Zat Knight and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Davies-c20716.”
Meanwhile, Cahill was thinking of taking on Bolton Wanderers striker Kevin Davies in the upcoming fixture, should both the players be selected to play. According to the English defender, Davies was a good friend of his and an excellent striker.
Cahill continued:
“Kevin is a great friend of mine and he is a proper professional and a top player.
He is one of the best that I have seen at what he does, in the way that he uses his body, holds the ball up and flicks it on.”
