The defensive duo are suffering from hamstring injuries and have been unavailable for weeks due to their respective injuries. However, Di Matteo was confident of their participation for the Blues in the important fixture in Europe.
Winger http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Florent-Malouda-c13838 on the other hand seems highly unlikely to play a role on the highly awaited fixture on Saturday. According to the Italian the Frenchman would only be able to play a small role for the London side in their quest for the Champions League
trophy.
Di Matteo said in an interview:
“Gary and David are going to try to train with us today.
Flo, we'll still assess and it's going to be touch and go for him to be available for Saturday.”
Cahill and Luiz’s injuries mean that Di Matteo could have to complete his bench for the game against Bayern Munich with youngsters, especially since the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Raul-Meireles-c30678 are all suspended for the game.
However, the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 Luiz would make a recovery in time. He admitted they had been trying out different scenarios in training just to be
on the safe side.
He revealed:
“That's the worse-case scenario.
We will take some reserve-team players onto the bench, into the squad, and just figure out what to do.
I've been trying different options in training and different solutions just in case.”
As for his future, Di Matteo confirmed he would be heading abroad if he was not given the Chelsea job on a permanent basis. However, he did confirm he would not be taking up the West Bromwich Albion http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 again under any circumstance, even if it were offered
to him in the summer.
Di Matteo added:
“In my life, I've gone back to an ex-girlfriend and it didn't work out.
I'm not sure whether it's the right move.”
