http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gary-Cahill-c14439 has revealed he believes he has enough experience to help the Three Lions in their quest to win the European Championships.
Even though the 26-year-old won his first cap for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bulgaria-c2861 as a substitute and since then has made 12 appearances for his country, Cahill believes he has enough experience to perform well in the upcoming European competition.
In his 12 appearances for England, Cahill has started seven of those international and is now expected to start alongside http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Belgium-c2850 in the friendly on Saturday before the European Championships kicks off.
According to Cahill, he believed he had the confidence needed to start in big games, especially since joining Chelsea from Bolton Wanderers. He joined the Blues in the winter transfer window of 2012 and has made an instant impact for the London side.
Cahill said in an interview:
“The big games I have been involved in this season, the huge games in the Champions League, have been great for me. People that might look at you and say 'He hasn't had this experience or played in these sorts of games' - you have now.
I think that helps. Hopefully that will help me, if selected. You have been through big games already.”
He was certain his involvement with Chelsea in their FA Cup and UEFA Champions League win would help him perform better for England. Cahill was also looking forward to playing under the new England manager, Roy Hodgson.
The English defender also spoke about the possibility of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Eden-Hazard-c11863 joining the Blues, after the Lille man claimed he was going to join the Champions League winners. Cahill believed Hazard had the talent to succeed in the English Premier League and would
do well for the Blues.
He added:
“I have seen bits of him and he looks a fantastic talent, doesn't he? They have some massive players. He will be one of many on the night. I have seen him the last couple of seasons for his side. He will be a threat for sure.”
