The former Bolton Wanderers player transferred to Chelsea in the January transfer window while Andre Villas-Boas was still in charge. While the Portuguese manager was sacked shortly after due to poor results in the Premier League, Cahill has flourished at

dreams are made of.”
The Blues defender admitted he had previously believed he would not go on to participate in the final against the German side since he had picked up a hamstring injury against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
He revealed:
“When I picked up the injury against Barcelona, I feared I wouldn't make the game but I am thankful to the staff that got http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 and me back. Absolutely amazing night and highlight of my career so far.”
Even though Bayern Munich were favourites, once http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arjen-Robben-c6521 had missed the penalty in extra-time, Cahill revealed he was confident his side would go on to win the game even though Munich had previously been dominating.
Cahill continued:
“When they did miss the odd chance here and there, that's when you thought, 'It's going to be our night - it has to be'.”
