Gary Kirsten may join Mumbai Indians after World Cup

The Board of Control for Cricket in India revealed Tuesday that the South African will leave his post after the ICC World Cup 2011.
According to India media reports, Gary Kirsten has a good relationship with Mumbai Indians’ captain Sachin Tendulkar which might land him the job with the IPL franchise before the start of the 2011 season.
Kirsten has been with the Indian team since 2008 and has proved to be one of the best coaches for the team. During his tenure with the Indian team, the South African helped the team to do well in many home and away series.
India has always been criticised for their poor performances on foreign tours but Kirsten helped the team in improving their record.
The last series that India played on a foreign soil was against the Proteas. The team did well and came close to their first-ever series win in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 were without few of their top players which can be considered as the reason behind
their One Day International series loss to Proteas.
The Indian media also reported about the replacement for Kirsten and said that team India might hire former South African all-rounder, Eric Simons for the job.
