Gary Kirsten rates Zaheer Khan as the best fast bowler in the world – Cricket News
Former Indian coach http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zaheer-Khan-c98451 is the best fast bowler in the world, as he proved his mettle in the ICC World Cup 2011. Kirsten helped India to win the World Cup after 28 years, but has decided to call it a day in order to give
some time to his family.
The left-arm medium pacer was the highest wicket-taker in the mega event along with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482, however Zaheer played one match more than Afridi.
While talking to the farewell press conference before he leaves for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757, Kirsten said that Zaheer is right up there as the best fast bowler in the world because of his ability to handle the pressure in any situation. The former South African opener
believes that Zaheer is a great bowler against left-handed batsmen.
Kirsten said that, "Zaheer is the best bowler in the world right now. He performs well under pressure. I think he is an unbelievable bowler to left-handers.”
The Indian bowling line-up was under a lot of criticism throughout the World Cup and bowling was considered as the weakness of the team during the tournament. Many critics thought that lack of variety in the bowling department would be a hurdle for India
in lifting the World Cup, but http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mahendra-Singh-Dhoni-c73820 and company proved everyone wrong.
While talking about the future of Indian bowling, Kirsten named the likes of Munaf Patel, Ashish Nehra and left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha who was not part of the squad for the World Cup. The former Indian coach feels that all of these cricketers can serve
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 for a long time in future if they can keep working hard.
"I was impressed with Munaf Patel. He performed well in the World Cup. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashish-Nehra-c46293 also did well. Zaheer has been No.1 for a long time but these guys need support. Pragyan Ojha too has done well and he just needs to keep learning what he has to do," added
Kirsten.
It is yet to be decided by the Indian cricket board about who will replace Kirsten as the coach of the national team, but the South African has set a tremendous benchmark for anyone take over as the coach of the World Champions.
