Gary Lineker believes Arsenal still have a mountain to climb
Former Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur striker Gary Lineker was not convinced by the way Arsenal won the Champions League encounter against Barcelona on Wednesday at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal managed an impressive 2-1 win over the Catalans, thanks to goals from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Villa-c10629 had opened the scoring in the 26th minute.
Lineker has labelled Barcelona as the greatest club of all times and believes that Arsenal face a tough task when they travel to Nou Camp in two weeks time. Barca managed to score the all-precious away goal and a 1-0 win at Nou Camp would be enough for them
to book a place into the quarterfinals of the tournament.
The former striker was present during the UEFA Champions League final ticket promotion ceremony in London. The final of the 2010-11 Champions League would be held at the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 national side’s stadium, The Wembley.
“There have been some incredible results, and great results of course for the two north London sides.I love watching Barcelona and I honestly think they could well be the greatest club side we will ever see,” stated Lineker.
“Very much so, but it's only half-time and I still think Arsenal have their work cut out because Barcelona are something else, not only the way they play their football but the way they work so hard,” added the former Tottenham man.
Gary claimed that Barca have some of the best players in the world and their individual and team brilliance supersedes all club sides in the world. Lineker added that Barcelona would have to win two or three Champions League titles in order to be considered
the best ever but had no doubts in their ability to achieve such a feat.
Barcelona managed to win the trophy in 2009 when they won six out of six tournaments they participated in. The side and the players managed to win every competition and trophy available to the club. To top it off, 8 of those Barcelona players were part of
Spain’s World Cup 2010 winning campaign.
