Gary Moore expects a big show from Fruity O'Rooney at Doncaster
Gary Moore is optimistic that his veteran gelding, Fruity O'Rooney, will have a good run in the Sky Bet Chase which is scheduled to be held on Saturday, January 28 at the Doncaster race track.
For the ace title, Fruity O'Rooney will run against 22 competitors including I’Msingingtheblues, Etxalar, Calgary Bay, Tamarinbleu, Aiteen Thirtythree, Aerial, Wayward Prince, Shakalakaboomboom, Hold On Julio, Cape Tribulation, Galaxy Rock, Araldur,
Wymott, Billie Magern, Qianshan Leader, Merigo, Shalimar Fromentro, Nikola, Riguez Dancer, King Fontaine, Osric and Carrickmines.
Moore reveals that his dashing racers seems to be in good form, and will notch up victory in the high-voltage event, claiming that he has an outstanding record at this track.
Having accomplished an epic triumph at Kempton, Fruity O'Rooney has gained great momentum which will surely assist him on Saturday.
The trainer said, “He's in at Doncaster and will run there, all being well. Going up 6lb is fair enough as he won well at Kempton. It's a competitive race, but he's in good heart and has had a nice time between races.”
He added, “He's now on 140, so these are the only sort of races he can run in. Hopefully the key to him is running at left-handed tracks. I think he'll go well at the weekend."
Starting his career on March 12, 2008, the black gelding has run 24 races so far including 2 NHF, 12 Hurdle and 10 Chase. However, his success ratio has been up to the mark, with just 6 victories and £55,395 in earnings so far.
Owned by Heart Of The South Racing, the nine-year-old racer is bred by R W Russell, and currently he is officially rated at 134.
As per the expert opinion, Fruity O'Rooney is not likely to have a good time on Saturday, as most of his competitors are experienced and talented enough. That is why the bettors are reluctant to invest much on him.
However, Gary Moore is sanguine despite all the odds, and he is looking forward for a good run especially after his victory at Kempton.
