It has been reported that Gary Speed will meet Arsene Wenger in London in order to discuss Aaron Ramsey’s current condition.
The Welsh manager wants to play the talented midfielder of Arsenal in the Four Nations Cup’s match against Republic of Ireland. However, Speed acknowledged that he is totally unaware of Ramsey’s physical condition, and would discuss with Arsene Wenger before
selecting the young midfielder.
He said, "I am going down to Arsenal this week to see where Aaron is at. I haven't spoken to Arsene yet but we have been in touch with the club. I have to speak to Arsene and see whatever is the best thing for Aaron in terms of his comeback.”
“Obviously, the priority and realistic target is to have him for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 game but it might be a case that Aaron needs a game and Arsene says I'd like Aaron to play against Ireland. It all depends what happens between now and then."
Aaron Ramsey is yet to feature in Arsenal’s colours as he has just returned from a double leg break which he suffered in a Premier League match against Stoke City back in February, 2010.
However, the Welsh attacking midfielder did spend a month on loan to a championship side, Nottingham Forest, in which Ramsey managed to make 5 appearances.
Gary Speed believes that Aaron Ramsey’s stay at Nottingham Forest was a successful one, and he feels that the young attacking midfielder could be ready to be a part of his Wales squad against Republic of Ireland.
Recently, Arsene Wenger had named Aaron Ramsey in the 15-man squad of Arsenal against Leeds United and Ipswich Town, however, the young Welsh midfielder was not brought on the field in any match.
Moreover, there were rumours that Aaron Ramsey could once again go on loan, but the Arsenal manager had rubbished such reports and confirmed that Ramsey will stay at Emirates, however, the player would start playing by the end of February.
