Question:

Gas Dryer not heating?

by  |  earlier

This is our last ditch effort to procrastinate from the inevitable of buying a new dryer.

It works, but not heating.

It was pretty clogged up with lint (I suspect this is the problem) - but since removing all that - still not working.

Any good links of what else we can try ourselves to try and fix.

We are not very handy...so the simpler the instructions the better!

Thanks

  1. It could be a coil in the dryer or a sensor that has blown out. We had that issue in my house months back. Your dryer clogged up with lint cold have been another reason as from so much buildup created this problem.

  2. probaly when the lint trap was plugged ... if a newer dryer,,,, you may have a safty relief valve that will shut itself off so no gas leaks into the home causing harm!!! you need to check out the preasure switch and be sure you got out all the lint as well.... be sure it air way is clear too!!!

  3. Does it have a pilot lite,ummmm?

  4. No heat? I checked the web and found HowStuffWorks.com which said the following, "The gas heater is generally the source of no-heat or drying problems. You can often correct such problems by adjusting the air shutter on the gas burner, which is located along the bottom of the dryer."  They give the details on how to fix it there.
