Gas Freeze?

Don't you think that the President could have froze the price of diesel and unleaded at the pump if he really wanted to? When I was in junior high one of the presidents, I can't remember which, put a freeze on the price of groceries. I think it worked. I know this was back in sixties or early seventies. I know, I'm old.

price freezes NEVER work.

If you freeze the price of gas at $4.00, then when it costs more, the consumer wins in the short term, but since gas prices are falling, the consumer would be the big loser.

#1 - that is impossible.  If I owned a gas station, I would rather close the station than to sell the gas at a loss.

#2 - this is a free economy.  The prices are set by the market pressure.  This isn't one of the socialist country

P.S.  You are making the assumption that this president actually cares about its citizen.  He only cares about his people - the oil companies and other big political contributors.
