  1. no , Sorry but Bush has no control over the gas prices and how high the gas cost . Its no benefit to him. i think you should read up a little more or research and watch the news or read the newspaper to keep you more up to date about the current events.

  2. I think you are high. Bush doesn't have the power to raise gas prices, and learn to spell.

  3. Bush doesn't have the power to raise gas.  The reason the price is so high is that OPEC changed the price of gas from dollars to euros a few years ago.  The government has been doing their best to keep the price as low as possible. They have run out of resources and can't control the price any longer.  Compared to the rest of the world, our prices are pretty cheap. If Bush didn't intervene, we would paying upwards of $8.00/gal.

  4. You are a prime example of  why Obama has thousands of cheering supporters at his campain stops.  Moron.

  5. No...

Here's the deal.  The U.S. uses a lot of gas.  Gas is refined from crude oil.  We don't have/produce nearly enough oil to power ourselves so we buy a LOT from other countries.  Especially the oil-rich middle eastern nations- who have banded together as OPEC.  Standing together, they dont have to compete and can charge high prices since there is a limited supply of oil- which they control.  They have gone from charging $30-ish per barrel to about $135ish a barrel in the past couple years.

This means the oil companies like Shell and Exxon/Mobil have to pay a much higher price to buy their oil.  This also means that they charge more to us at the pump make up their profits (and  charge a little extra since they can).

We are also paying more because the weak value of the U.S. dollar , our money is just worth less.

Now, Bush has been part of Oil companies in the past, and I'm sure that he probably does get some benefit from higher profits by the gas companies...but he himself has no real way to 'raise' the price of gas.
