CNN/Money Report Gas Prices around the World. So Why in Venezuela gas is .014 cent a gallon Russia Is $1.18 While The UK and the US Gas is from 4 to $5.00 a Gal.

  1. Because they both have a bunch of it and aren't afraid to drill for it. They also probably have price controls.


  2. Here in Australia, where I live we are paying $1.50 a litre.  I don't know how that converts to gallons and US dollars

  3. Venezuela subsidies their gasoline with the money they earn from exporting oil to America.  So technically, every time you fill up at the pump, you are paying for Venezuelans to get $0.18/gal gasoline.

    But overall, Americans are paying the true cost. Others are paying for subsidized fuel by their Government. Although through government taxes, they really are paying for it in the end.

  4. Agreed the US should pay the same as the UK ($6 a gal)

    Other countries have gas, the US is saving their gas until everyone else's is used up, then they will start in Alaska
