Gas Range Not Igniting?

Question

It was working fine until now, I decided to give a thorough cleaning. I took the burners off and cleaned everything underneath being careful not to touch the small thing the gas comes out of. Would even a tiny bit of moisture be causing it?Will it work later or does washing under those silver things destroy it? I am renting so I have no manual and odn't want to call landlord over something if its nothing. .

The pilot light may be out, but a malfunctioning gas stove can be very dangerous you could get carbon monoxide poisoning and any small spark could ignite any gas that has accumulated.  This is something you definitely call the landlord over it is very serious and dangerous and that is the landlords job, to make sure that all the appliances that came with the apartment are working correctly.  So call the land lord asap!

When you were cleaning, you may have accidentally put out the  pilot light. That's a tiny flame that is kept burning in your stove all the time.

   It's something that you might be able to light yourself, if you know how. However, if you've been running the range trying to figure out why it's not lighting, there's likely to be a lot of gas in the air, and excess gas + fire = explosion. It might be wise to see if your landlord has a handyman that can come over and relight it.

you most likely got moisture on the ignitor.  just wait until it dries out and it will light again.

i used to have that same propblem (was a sealed burner, too)

Did you try to relight it? take a match or lighter and hold it over the little metal stem things. it should light right away. Mine goes out like everyday. Just make sure you didnt clean with something that is flammable.

Is it pilot or spark ignition.Gas preasure is very low(for safty reasons) so you probably blocked the pilot hole(if pilot) or if electric ign its probably still wet and is grounding out(just wait)
