Gas and electric switch over?

Question

I ahve been with scottish power and am fed up of them increasing my payments by up to £40 a quater , so i went on line to a price comparison site, Bristish gas came up as the cheapest sso i clicked and filled out the form

Got a welcme letter last month but nothing since , rang up and was told if i wanted to switch , I would have to pay £120 , This is about the amount im left with every week

I said it was bloody ridiculous explained my situation etc , they said all new customers have to do this

I cant afford this - what should i do , i cant afford the £104 scottish power want every month either (it started at £45 a month)

arethere any other suppliers who are cheaper and dont ask for high deposits

British Gas are the highest providers in the power industry at the moment....I went from them to Southern Electric...for both gas and electricity. They are a British Company, British run and all there staff are British.... no foreign call centres.

Also the more customers they get the lower there prices become. They

have taken on thousands of British Gas customers....and I wasnt charged anything for the switchover.
