  1. Then fill your tanks now.

  2. Gas will be about $3.80 a gallon by the election.

The Bush oil barons have us brainwashed to believe that anything under four bux/gal is cheap.

  3. Where did you hear this? It probably will go up that high, but not by the end of next week. It's $3.45 a gallon over here.

  4. OMG--who said this?

  5. That is just an excuse.  The US gets their oil from the middle east and Canada.  The storm is just an excuse to jack up the prices.  The American government is messed up.

  6. This is not an excuse of anything, it's cold hard truth. Depending on the strength of Gustav and where it makes landfall this can have a debilatating effect on U.S. oil production and supply. When Katrina made landfall gas prices shot up over 40 percent countrywide and the same can be possible if Gustav strengthens and grows in size striking the offshore oil platforms. Katrina only affected a mere 5 percent of our overall export capabilities, but that was more than enough to have dire economic consequences.

Stay informed, the worst places for this hurricane to make landfall are off the coast of Texas and Lousiana where most of our oil rigs and platforms lie. 4.50 to 5.25 is a modest estimate of how bad it could be, don't forget when Katrina struck oil prices were in the low 2 dollar range. Prices went up over 3.70 in most areas. If prices now are around 3.55 or so, they can realistically be 6 dollars a gallon if the gulf coast has an impact with a category 3 or stronger.

Gustav still has plenty of time to develop or weaken, or divert path, but as for right now fill up and hope for the best, because it's not looking good right now for us.

  7. wow you should save some gas in gas containers then.

here where i live in California it's 3.71 the lowest that i've seen

  8. Even if it doenst hit, the refineries are shutdown in anticipation of it...therefore dont be surprised if $5-7/gallon hits withing the next few weeks
