  1. a gas card wont help it will just get you indebt. stick to cash if you can. or try capooling with a co-worker or friend.  Those cards are only good if you are disciplined and pay te card off because the rate is sooooo high, you are right.

We are paying $3.89 on average a gallon of gas.

Not only are the gas prices rising but food prices are rising and heating costs are rising.

We movedinto our dream home and we were doing fine financially then my DH got laidoff and then everyting went skyrocketing and I left my job and he took a paycut when he went back to work.  So we are scraping by everymonth trying to make ends meet and fix our house up and keep food on the table , bills paid and gas in the car. It;s pretty hard.

I figured that when gas went to 3.00$ a gallon we would just cut back on going out to eat as muchand then we would be ok, but the gas is going closer to 4 $ a gallon and possibly $5 by summer then the heating and cooling of the house goes up and then not eating out doesnt cover it anymore. we are dipping into savings and credit and many other things to make it every month. We are very tight right now.

Enough with my rambling but I think that goes to the point today you have to do what you have to do to survive, and not get caught up in astronomical debt.

So try carpooling or check the local buses if you have the time, maybe that could save you money.

Also, try driving with the AC off.

watch tire pressure, too low and you are wasting gas. dont idle for too long, and try and do all your errands in 1 shot so you dont have to drive around to do things.

I hated shopping at Walmart but am finding that I have to go back to shopping there and dollar stores because

    1.) they are cheaper

2.) they sell a variety of things that I dont have to leave the store and drive to 4 other stores to look for things (AND THEN WASTE GAS!)

I could go on with a political rant right now but sufficed to say that I thought gas prices would be lower once a Bush was in office.

  2. 1. Gas is not high. It's higher than it has been, but that does not make it high. Do a search for global gas prices. The US barely registers compared to the 5-6$ a gallon of many places.

    2. A gas card won't do anything at all for you.
