What are you doing to save gas? Are you still going traveling this summer? Do some of you miss work because of gas? Has anyone ever though or about to change where you work because of gas?

  1. I carpool to places with friends we all take turns and we get to spend so much more time with each other now

  2. ride my bike to work.  No. No. No.

  3. i take the train into work to save money on gas.

every day i drive past my local gas station, i see the price go up about 10 cents a week. WHEN WILL IT STOP!?

I am going to buy a horse.

feeding the horse hay will be a lot cheaper than feeding my car $5/gallon gas!!

  4. public transit, and away!

  5. TOO EXPENCIVE

  6. I moved into the hills. I've paid off my little house. I grow my own food. I don't need to drive any more. I have disconnected from the economic system. It can go to h**l, and it won't affect me any.

  7. I just filled up my car and it cost converted in dollars $130 i get 17mpg .

Considering walking on smaller journeys and biking to the gym.

I save gas by not racing around else i would get about 8 mpg and going out a lot less and combing journeys instead of coming in then going out again.

  8. It is not expensive compared to the world market. We in N America have been spoiled rotten for decades. I got rid of my vehicle 3-1/2 years ago and although it's not as convenient, I don't regret it. I rent occasionally when I have to go out of town, bike or bus everywhere else. I also joined a car co-op so I can rent a car for as little as one hour if I need it.

I also saved enough money to put in new kitchen cabinets, pay my daughter's tuition and will soon be putting in a Rec Room. Even more importantly I have avoided dumping tons of pollutants and hydrocarbons into the atmosphere. The world is changing people. I - and the small percentage of people who consciously made the right, if inconvenient decision - are getting tired of doing the ecological heavy lifting ourselves!

  9. Gas is about $3.99 in the part of PA that I'm in. I have to put 93 Octane in my car, but it gets about 350 miles to the tank full tho, so its not too bad. I still plan on driving the 2 hours to the beach this summer. (MORE THEN ONCE) but that's probably the furthest that I'll be going.

  10. gas is expensive.

people just dont want to change their livestyles at all.

americans pay highly to avoid inconvenience.

thats the way we have always been.

  11. im riding my bike. gas is ridiculous

  12. no travelling i dont miss work that would be stupid because then you could not pay for gas but my job is only 10 miles away so i can ride my scooter(175mpg) but to make extra gas money is still hard

  13. Yes it's expensive. I don't go anywhere I don't have to go in order to save gas. I also carpool, and try to get as much done in as few places as possible. I don't miss work because I live 3 miles from work.

  14. Gas isn't as expensive as it used to be! In the past it has been much worse. Gas will continue to be more expensive as the demand for it increases. Adjust for inflation, you will see!

  15. you can go on gasbuddy.com and type in your zip or city and your state, and it will give you the closest gas station with the cheapest gas!

this works great to save you some money!

  16. Yes, it is 4.15 where I live.  One thing I am trying to do is not leave the car on and idling when I do not have to.  I used to do this all the time but have stopped and am hoping it helps.

  17. dude!!! nw a days everything's prises is going up up n away!!! gas is vry expensive!! poor 4 us!!! we nid 2 use gas 2 survive bt we also nid money!!!

  18. I moved about 8 months ago. I used to live 32 miles from my job, now I live less than a mile from my job. Gas is so ridiculous by me. I am in the suburbs of Chicago and regular unleaded is up to $4.15.  Its even more in the city.

right now Chicago has the highest gas prices in the nation.

  19. I'm glad I flex work because I don't have to be at the office every day of the week. But am sorry for those who do have to be there.  It's amazing how much this is affecting our everyday lives.  This summer it's going to be a waste of electricity since we won't be going anywhere!

  20. i just deal with it. and try not to slam the pedal down quite like i did before. itll go back down.

  21. I have slowed down 60 mph max speed on the highway (remember right lane is the slow lane), no more jack rabbit starts - I accelerate up to speed slowly in the highest gear possible. I look ahead and coast if I am gaining on traffic instead of driving up on the car head and hitting the brakes. I don't hurry up just to stop at the next light. I leave the heater blower off unless I need heat or AC, heat comes out when the car is moving without the blower.  I keep my tires properly inflated. With these changes my mileage has gone from 28 to 35 which gives me an extra 100 mi per tank full of gas.

I don't do a lot of traveling by car, had my fill of car travel when I was a kid.

My round trip to work is about 30 mi so I can't see missing work to save $4 in gas since I would be out way more then that in wages.
