Gas lift bar stool..going down?

i have 2 gas lift bar stool that i have just purchased from Le Cornue, one seems to have run out of gas and lowers when i sit on it ( got it cheap so i cant take it back) can i get it refilled or could the problem be something else?

  1. There is no gas in your chair it is air and the lever that you pull lets out the air what lowers your chair ,when you take your weight off the chair a spring lifts the chair back up ,it could be that the spring is weak and you will need a new spring ,or the seal is letting out the air .

  2. Gas struts  are commonly used in many industries.

    Most are sealed , but can lose internal pressure over time.

    Some may have a spring to assist as mentioned.

    If the chair can be disassembled look for the mfr. on the strut & search that maker or gas struts & gas springs in general.
