  1. Kettle as you can get quick boil kettles and you need only boil one cup. With a gas hob you would need to cover the bottom of the saucepan with water. Then you would need to wash the pan using more energy.

  2. electric kettle is quick, and if you only boil what you need, then ite eco friendly

  3. gas, but not much difference.

  4. I have just got the new 3sec boil kettle boil from tefal I've not had an elec bill yet to see how much difference it's made, but  amount of  tea and coffee made in my house I hope my bill has been cut by half

  5. gas hob or electric kettle, electric hob takes longer to heat up, but only boil the amount of water you need.

  6. Electric kettle , it's a lot quicker to boil if you only fill up what you will drink .

Find out yourself , take meter reading and compare the two .

  7. Because you mentioned eco-friendly then gas or electric is not in the running.  Have you heard of solar ovens?  Well they are used to boil water.

  8. its better if you get the 3 sec kettle from argos £59

  9. I once timed my electric kettle and a gas kettle. They both boiled almost in the same amount of time. So which is the one that uses less energy ?

  10. Your question raises yet another, why do you need to boil the water in the first place?

This from a person that doesn't use hot water.
