We recently installed a used commercial gas oven for baking donuts. We were told it was working when we bought it. It runs on regular 110 - 115 V and natural gas. When we turn it on the fan runs and the oven lights work but the burners will not ignite. There is no click to signify that the igniters are working. And no lights on the panel either. There is only .4v on both sides of the thermostat. I'm not sure if this unit has a pilot light or not. When I turn the gas on and turn the power switch on, I can smell gas and the fan runs but nothing clicks or fires up. Do I have to light this up manually the first time? Why do I smell gas if the igniters are not working? What if I did get this going and the pilot light ever went out, would the room fill up with gas? Should it not have some kind of safety device to prevent gas from flowing when there is no flame?
