  1. I couldn't stop buying gas altogether - - there is no mass transit system to get me to work or to the grocery store.

At $3.65 - which is what I paid two days ago, I am praying for warmer & dry weather so I can switch to my motorcycle which is more fuel efficient than my car.

I am already conscientious about making fewer trips and I watch my tachometer to ensure I'm not flooring the gas pedal when the light turns green so I use a bit less gas.

My consumption wouldn't increase if gas prices went back down.  I wouldn't stockpile it in barrels in the garage or anything (gas can go stale).

  2. gas prices are up to keep your mine off heath care!

when gas is 6 a gallon i will only use my car in bad weather or far pasts i have cut my gas in have in the last mouth!

  3. I'd always buy the gas I need, no matter what price, expensive or cheap. I don't waste, not then, not now.

  4. unfortunately for me, i drive 35 miles each way to get to work.  so buying gas, to me, is more like an investment.  it is expensive but until i find a place closer to where i work, i'll just have to stick it out

  5. Where I live, the public transportation is very minimal and things are spread-out so driving is pretty-much necessary.

Personally, I can't stop buying gas, because it would mean my daughter can't go to daycare, I can't go to work and we won't have any groceries, or rent, or utilities.  The best  I can do is do what I can to increase my gas mileage.

  6. it would have to be like $10 a gallon for me to stop driving all together.  I have a job i need to commute to, but other than that, i've already stopped driving.  I miss 2 summers ago when road trips and just driving around aimlessly was a fun possibility, now it seems as if it's sitting in the house without the air conditioning on just to afford the rent.  This country appears to be unlivable now-a-days and it's really ashame :( Especially for those of us who are younger and really have a grim future ahead of us...

  7. I will  never stop buying gas. I need a way to get to work to pay my bills. So it dont matter the cost we all need it. The only way to slow down on how much gas we spend is move closer to where you work . And believe me I have been trying. Right now we drive 1 hour one way to work. Sorry to say we fill the cars up every other day. Thank god there are still a few good jobs out there. I am willing to pay double the amount I am now for rent because it is going to be cheaper then what we are paying out now for gas.

I wouldnt buy anymore gas if it ever did go down to $2.00 or less a gallon. You have to have a place to store that and I do not have any way to do it as the same as most of the people out there.

  8. h**l, if that happend then i would actually start driving my 5.7liter V8 tahoe again.....yeah right...

  9. We'll never be able to stop buying gas, but if it were $7/gallon here in the US, I'd change the amount I use my car. When it goes to $5, that'll be really painful for most people, myself included, especially if wages don't go up to compensate for it and the trickle down effect of high energy costs.

  10. $7.00 is the limit then I would start using public transportation and as for the $1.00 to $2.00 a gallon gas, we will never see that again..
