Gas prices are insane!!! I have a question about gas.?

Do some gas stations have this service where you can just pump before you pay?

Gas prices are crazy. A lot of people are complaining about it. What happpens if you pump your gas and go?

Most places now require you to pay first.  If they let you pump first, they usually have security cameras and such.  And at any rate, if you get caught stealing, you're going to be in major trouble.

Up until last May's crazy gas prices, I was able to pump then pay.  Now it's either pre-pay or give them your license.

Some smaller towns might still let you just pull up, pump, and pay.  They will usually have a sign or something on the screen at the pump .

Punishment varies from state to state about stealing gas, but you'll probably end up loosing your license if you do it.

yes some do allow to fuel before you pay.

if you do a pump and run you are a thief and some stations will take the amount of fuel you steal out of the employees wages that was working (and they don't make that much to start with). my boss has installed  over $25,000.00 in a camera system because of this problem (needless to say no one got a raise last year due to this) and we do get all plate numbers along with a good picture of the person who took the fuel.

No i dont know of any gas stations that you can pump before you pay they are all prepaid now to make sure that people like you dont pump gas then drive away. If you pump gas then drive away , first of all you will be cought and second of all its an offence its steeling so not only will you loose your license you could also go to jail or pay a large fine on top of having to pay for  your gas.

In order to get that pump before you pay card, you've got to show them you're driver's liences, so whenever you use that card you're information shows up....not too smart to do.

In the VERY rare chance that you can pump prior to paying, many places have cameras.  I agree with the other response - not a good idea.  It is considered theft and illegal.

Where I live all our pumps are pump before you pay.  Where do you live?  If you pump your gas and go you are stealing!!!! That is a crime and you could go to jail.  A lot of gas stations have a camera that record all the licence plates.

years ago, it was common to pump your gas, then go inside and pay for it. That was before you could pay at the pump. I don't know of any stations anymore than allow you to pump before paying.

Yes, they do.  

Try leaving without paying, and you'll get arrested and taken to jail.  They have your license plate numbers.

IF You fail to pay for your gas the attendant calls the local law and reports you with a description and license number, then, when i catch you i give you a free ride to jail.
