Gas prices are out to ruin my life...what can I do?

Ok, so I really want to have a job this summer, and I can't work anywhere in the town I live. However, in the next town (which isn't that far away...I go to school there and live in the c**p town), the movie theatre is hiring. I would love to work there, and have wanted to since I was about 10. I am within a few months of being able to work but that's how everything is with me (always a few months below the limit of something I want to do), but my mom always manages to pull strings.

Anyways, to go into town and back costs roughly $12 because of gas prices. My wage wouldn't be very much if I had to pay my parents to drive me in. I can't carpool.

So what do I do ?

  1. god gave us legs for a reason

  2. ride your bike

  3. I'm with G Atkins.  Ride the bike or jog.  You'll be in awesome shape, although you might be a little "ripe" when you get there.  Perhaps you can pack a change of clothes and use the shower at the theatre if they have one.

Alternatively, you can pick a different job.  Be an entrepreneur.  Your c**p town might be the perfect place to start your own business which could pay WAY MORE than the theater job....and if you still want to work the theater job later, you will be able to afford the gas.  Who knows, maybe you can open a theater in c**p town. 4. Hey!   You must live in my town!   Hope to see you around soon.

  5. You could get a gas friendly car or change oil alot!

  6. calculate how much you'll make working part time there on minimum wage and subtract from it the number or times you'd go n which is probably 3 or 4.

theaters pay the same every where.  decide if it is worth it to you.

  7. Get a bike get skinny and enjoy the summer ride.

  8. Take up some other job in your city.

  9. well if you believe it's too far to walk, or ride bike to, you could either invest in a hybrid car which will also be beneficial in the future, or you can use a bus service.

  10. drill for oil
