  1. Ah, don't jinx it man.

I remember not to long ago, during it's excessive rise, it fell a few cents and everybody got excited!!! Then it turned around and started rising again...

    This is all ridiculous...

  2. It all depends on whether the Congress will allow a sensible energy policy by lifting the moratorium on offshore drilling and drilling on the frozen tundra in that small area of ANWR.

In parallel, we need to develop clean coal, wind, solar, and nuclear for electricity and home-heating, and vehicles that run on natural gas.

Biofuels are only part of the solution long-term if we can develop them from non-food sources.  Ethanol is a terrible solution.  It's great for the farm lobby, bad for everybody else and a huge waste of water.

If we do all of these things, we will secure an affordable future for energy through diversification.

  3. Currently gas prices are going down due to decrease in demand. This is common.  However, the Dems are upset that people are not consuming as much gas which has lead to loss in taxes to pay for roads and bridges, so last week they proposed raising the gas tax ten cents.  I am afraid it will never be 1.70 again without crippling the economy.

  4. i HIGHLY HIGHLY DOUBT gas will ever be 1.70 again let alone 3 dollars...

  5. eventually.

  6. I think the GOP is trying to placate people before the election, so prices are dropping.

  7. It will never be back down, if anything, it will just keep rising. People are expecting $6 by December.

    Yeah, it sucks.

So go get a second job and stop complaining.

    We can't control anything.

Yeah, my $70 a fill up HURTS, but I put ALL of my tips toward my gas, I don't touch my paychecks for it. I don't make the tips, I don't drive. It's that easy.

  8. i remember when gas use to be 60 cents.

  9. They probably won't go down that far again, but maybe under $4 a gallon....until the Democrats pass the new federal tax they want to put on gas.

Of course it could reach that low if they let us get all the oil we're sitting on in the U.S.  We have reserves more than Saudi Arabia, but again, Congress won't let us extract it.

  10. I doubt it.   It's already at a point where, if somebody sees a sign that says Unleaded - $3.85 per gallon, it's considered more of a BARGAIN.

To abuse an old cliche......... "That's how they getcha!"

Raise the prices so ridiculously that when they go back down, you stop complaining.... and they still make a KILLER profit off of you because the end price is still WAY higher than what it was before gas prices shot up in the FIRST place.      <")))><

  11. Nope

Get used to high gas prices.

  12. supply and demand.

in the summer, the demand for gas is always higher (family vacations, kids out of school, beach trips, yada yada yada). the price ALWAYS rises in the summer because gas companies know that people will pay the higher price.

as summer slows down, and the economy becomes more of a $h!thole, people drive less and/or can not afford gas. therefor, gas prices must come down to make a profit.

it happens every summer, they will go down in the fall/winter but expect an increase late spring/summer next year.

as for $1.70, i HARDLY doubt it. h**l, most people will be happy if we get $2.99.

    i know i would be.

  13. The price of crude oil dropped $20 off its high of $14x a barrel.  Now that the price has stabilized in the $120s, gas stations are reacting to it.

  14. if the tax on gas is dropped it will as i saw was said earlier cripple our economy and dropping the tax is the only way to get gas that low

and i've seen this alot people blaming gas companies for high gas prices but they get around .05 dollars per gallon
