God, can someone tell me why they let these so called experts to speak to the mass about ow to save Miles per Gallon. Come on. SO what if I am going 80Mph or 60Mph. It is the Rev of your Engine. I could be going 90MpH and still burn the same amount of gas as I am going 30MpH. Am I going up hill or Down Hill?. Thank God that there is a Thing called A Torque Converter in my Car that helps me with all of this. God I am going insane listening to these guys.

  1. The faster you go. the more gas you use. Period.

  2. Dude, no matter what at 80 you will get worse mileage than 60. Just watch your tach. Ever notice that while in overdrive, as you go faster, the RPMs go up? That's just burning fuel. Not to mention the wind resistance.

Honestly, I get tired of hearing them talk about "mileage tips" because it's so damned obvious.

  3. What you are missing is the fact that the faster you go, the more you will use your brake due to obstruction from slower traffic.  Also, the faster you go the more your speed will fluctuate.  Every time you accelerate, you waste more gas.  Your analysis is valid for an ideal-world situation, but in the real world things don't always go according to theory.  Also, the revolutions in your engine are not constant, they change with speed.

  4. Also if you have a manual transmission you get better gas mileage
