Question:

Gas prices too high?

There are ways to combat this and one good way is to drop the speed limit to 55 again. The slogan "55 saves lives" could also say "and gas too". Why not?

  1. yeah that would be a brilliant idea. Then everybody could spend more time on the road and the price of commodities could go up yet again because the stock would never be there on time.

Any more bright ideas p****r head?

  2. No, gas prices are not too high. Cars are too inefficient and people are too lazy.

  3. Blame the politicians who l**k the boots of the eco-nuts and inflict ridiculous regulations on the oil industry... then deny them permission to drill and make it a regulatory nightmare to build more refineries.

If thats not enough some of these same democrats have stock in the oil industry.

  4. YOU can drive 55, I'm driving 70.

  5. 55 MPH was never shown to be the optimal speed for gas mileage.  Neither was it ever shown to contribute anything to conservation.  The 55-MPH limit was widely ignored on roads that were designed for faster speeds.

We would save far more gasoline by avoiding driving altogether or by carpooling.  Telecommuting uses NO gasoline.  Instead of having HOV lanes, how about declaring all limited-access highways off-limits to cars with fewer than three occupants?

The only thing 55-MPH limits were good for was raising money by ticketing.  If the police were truly interested in enforcing that limit, they would drive 55 MPH themselves, and simply arrest anybody who passed them.  This was actually done for a while, on the road from Los Angeles to Las Vegas.

  6. You are free to drive 55. I see people doing it all the time, i just ride their azz until I can get around.

Why do people try to change the laws to apply to everyone when you are the one having a problem. Change your habbits and you will be fine.

In addition 55 to save lives is BS. That was done to also save gas and it did little. If they did change the speeds to 55 all your savings would likely go to the local police as they will be giving many many more tickets.

In Colorado they raised the speed limit to 75 mph. and it actually reduced traffic accidents.

I say raise the speed limits!! everyone drives 70+ anyway.

this will just reduce traffic violations....can't have that. Cities and the state would be out billions accross the nation. Yes I said billions.

  7. Yes.. its true.... Prices are too high.. and lol
