at this store I stopped to get gas at I payed with a debit card the reciepts tell you how many gallons you are supposed to get,but after pumping my gas I noticed the pump said I actually got one-tenth of a gallon less than my reciept said I should have gotten. Is this illegal? Or does it matter? Should the store be reported?

  1. The receipt may just be rounding up.  Next time you are there check that the listed price is correct for the amount of gas you get, but I suspect it will be.  Beyond that check, just forget about it this is clearly a mistake.

  2. contact police and see what they say

  3. yeah, that doesn't sound right to me either... your receipt should reflect the same numbers as the pump. I would report them.  It may seem like a little amount, but collectively it adds up.

  4. you probably were charged a little extra for using a debit card because it costs the store every time somebody uses a debit or credit card for gas to transfer the money and yes if this is the case it is legal.
