Question:

Gas stove Oven too hot?

I have a Hotpoint stove and the oven portion is not working correctly. It gets too hot. I can set it below the warm setting and things that should take 40 minutes to cook only is taking about 5. My landlord replaced the thermostat but it is still not working correctly. How can I adjust the temperature to get it working properly?

Also the poliot lights on the range portion are always yellow? Is that okay or is that also not right?

  1. is this a new stove?? i am a propane tech and to me it sounds as tho the unit is not converted.. if you are on a propane system and the stove was new it must be converted for the different type of gas

  2. If it was changed, you can adjust the temperature. Most gas stoves have a valve under the k**b for the oven temperature. Get an oven thermometer and turn the s***w little by little until the temperature matches the setting.
