Question:

Gas stove burner/oven noises

Two separate problems (I think):

1. When oven is heating up and I am using a burner on the top, the flame on the burner makes a noise that sounds somewhat like a welding torch. Flame seems fine.

2. When baking, every time the oven turns on to adjust the heat, there is a quick noise that sounds like a VERY SMALL explosion.

Have had Sears and gas company out to look at this. Sears says it is because the propane company puts something in their gas in the winter to do something. Propane company says not to use the oven at all and they don't know what Sears is talking about.

This has been going on for well over year or more without getting worse, but the idea of a "VERY SMALL" explosion and torch sound from the top just make me nervous!
