Question:

Gas stuck on dirt bike?

When i twist the throttle it doesn't add more gas.

Let me explain more, I start the bike with the choke ON so the valve is closed. It runs a loud idle and when I turn the choke to OFF (valve open), the bike is running idle still (hand not touching throttle) but its as if i have the throttle twisted to its max and im burning gas/oil in neutral and making a lot of sound. The gas has to be stuck somehow? Or the throttle is stuck and won't come unstuck because it twisted back and forth just fine but when i twist it to give it more it will have no effect (thus it is already running as if the throttle were fully twisted). When i switch into first gear...hands off everything just in idle, it shoot forward full speed and id have to switch to 2nd then 3rd to keep up with it but that would be pointless cuz ill never be able to stop. Pretty clear that somethings wrong with the gas...I cannot for the life of me figure out how to fix this though...HELP!

  1. Year? Make? Model?

Stuck throttle cable holding the throttle open.

Throttle slide not returning in the carb.

  2. the throttle cable may be stuck just take it off and put some wd40 down it IF it is froze or try to adjust the carb

  3. with your bike off, snap the throttle listen to see if you hear the butterfly valve snap shut. you should hear a clunk as the valve opens and then let the throttle go you should hear a clunk as it closes.

if you dont hear it your cables r holding the valve open, or the valve is jammed open. either way the valve is jammed open steel your dads tool set and open up the carb
