My gas wall oven flame is always on maximum even if the dial is turned down it only reduces the flame by a tiny amount. Is it most likely the thermostat or another component that needs replacing?

  1. All the ovens I have seen turn the flame on and off, NOT higher and lower.

If it is overheating as I assume and you say the flame goes down a little when you turn the thermostat down, that suggests to me the valve is bad and not closing or closing very slowly. But in that case I would think it would not shut off or only after a time when you turned it off.

    That sounds dangerous.

But if you can shut if off electrically by turning it off then that sounds like a bad thermostat.

    Good Luck

  2. Sounds like a personal problem to me. You might want to go see the doctor. Check your underwear and if there is a hole in the buttocks area you know that isn't good so get an appt. fast.
