Palermo coach Gian Piero Gasperini does not lament over being sacked by Inter, but now that his tactics are being copied by his ex-club he feels a bit irate
Gasperini feels let down after Inter rejected his ideas during his tenure at the club and later implemented them after he got fired. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 was terminated. He
now returns as the Palermo coach to San Siro for the match against Milan on Sunday.
“I am not taking tomorrow’s game as a chance for revenge. I just want my lads to play well and get a result,” confirmed the tactician.
Ideas such as a three defender line up instead of four at the back and signing Genoa player Rodrigo Palacio were suggested by the Italian coach during his reign at the Nerazzurri camp. The coach has to be given credit for being
forward thinking since three at the back is now considered common.
“It’s true that now the three-man defence is fashionable and even seen at Inter. In my time there it was not accepted and morally it was an ugly experience. I was upset and disappointed more than angry, as I had formed a good rapport
with some people.” said a dejected Gasperini.
Palermo has not been in the finest of forms in this season and have had to face a number of losses, most recent of which came against AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 and Bologna. But the recent 3-1 derby win against Catania has improved morale for Gasperini’s
men.
“Palermo are coming off a great victory in the Sicilian derby, but our place in the table continues to be complicated. It’s a tough fixture list and we need to get points against everyone.” remarked the tactician.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Massimo-Donati-c24582 are unavailable for the upcoming fixture, their replacements would be players from the Palermo youth squad.
A victory at San Siro would be a further boost to confidence for the Sicilian side and help them stay afloat as they are dangerously close to relegation. The Rosanero are at number 15 in the table tally currently.
