  1. Your horse may have had a minor panic attack.

Also it is not usually reccomended to work a horse hard when it is on medication as strong as bute.  Oh and btw over doing bute (even if he needs it) can cause stomach ulcers so you may want to also try giving your horse a few tums after during or before he takes the bute.

  2. you might have to put him threw surgery or he is winded

  3. i Hope he's ok. Maybe go for a gentle barrel race and see if he starts getting tense and gasping for air. Maybe he doesn't need bute as often as you give it to him or something and he had an alergic reaction ....?

Dunno... Hope he gets better tho.

  4. It wouldnt be a bad idea to call your vet. Not to make it an emergency, but just to get a professional opinion. He might have panicked, or he could have worked himself up. I rode an Arabian once who took off with me on the trails and it took me 2 hours to get him to chill and start breathing normally. Either way, I'd call a vet just to get an opinion. :) good luck.

  5. How old is your horse?

He doesn't sound very fit. You should take him to the vet
