Gateway, change from Vista to XP, help please!?

Hi, is there any possibility to change from Windows Vista to XP? I have a Gateway M6810 laptop, I don't know if the drivers (camera, video, touchpad, media-buttons, etc) work for XP. Please help,I'mm really tired and pissed off with windows vista!!!! Core 2 Duo @ 1.83 , 250 HD, 4 Gb Ram, 512 Video and its not working as it should ARGH!!

  1. You should be able to convert it back to XP but you're not going to get a full use of the 4 GB.  You'll really only be using 1 GB - 2 GB for a lot of functions.

    First thing you want to do is make a backup of Vista before you reinstall XP.  You should have a Gateway Vista disc in the box so check for that first, then go to Start Menu > Recovery > Application Recovery Disc (not sure if that's it but somewhere around that).  That disc will allow you to reinstall programs if you were to reinstall Vista.

    You should be able to use the webcam driver for Vista even though it's XP:

    Best thing you can do is check the Device Manager and see what the versions are of the audio, network, etc drivers and note them before you do the install of XP.  That way you know what to search for.
