Gateway 8510GZ battery wouldnt charge

Hello all

I have a gateway 8510GZ notebook. its a 17" wideswcreen notebook by gateway. The problem i am facing is that the battery wouldnt charge on the laptop. If connect to other laptop it would charge and would work fine on mine but my laptop wouldnt let it charge. The laptop works fine on DC power but when i try to go into the bios to see the battery info it save, high voltage and doesnt charge the battery.
I got the adaptor checked and its relaying the exact power to the system as its supposed to. The local service people here in india told me that there is some capacitor blown on the motherboard that relays the charge to the battery as the adapter and the battery are both fine.

Can someone help me with this problem.. or can anyone give me more details about the blown capacitor on the motherboad, how can i find it here in india and if you can give me model number of any identification number.
Also the local repair people here have ask me to look for a symmetrical diagram of the motherboard.
