We went to cut the computer on one day after using every day for just over a year, and only the fan was running. The blue light on the power button would not light, and it never cued the CPU to display anything. I called Gateway and they tried to be helpful, but the computer stopped working almost a year to the day we bought it - go figure! So, they suggested there was a power supply or motherboard issue and I should send the computer to them or take to Best Buy. I had a friend look at it and he saw that the power supply was bad, and he replaced it. The computer worked fine for a day, but then would not come on again unless there was significant down time - like a week. My friend now thinks the mother board has a short in it - does that sound logical? Any other help to provide? My hard drive and memory are intact, thank goodness. I just want my computer to work.
