Gateway notebook. I start my computer up and it gets a few screens in and than just restarts over

I start my computer up and it gets a few screens in and than just restarts over and over again. I have mcafee virus protection and ran a scan and it says everything is ok. I am a college student and need my computer. I am not sure what else to try.
