Gathering favourite for Height of Fashion Stakes (Listed Race) (Fillies)
Gathering has a solid chance of winning the Height of Fashion Stakes (Listed Race) (Fillies) at Goodwood in England on Thursday, May 24, 2012. The winner of the class-1 event will be given a cash prize of £20,720.
The stamina of all runners will be put to a test, as they will have to cover an overall distance of 1 mile, 1 furlong and 192 yards. The action is scheduled to start at 15:45 GMT and following entries have been confirmed: Gathering, Coquet, Estrela, Minidress,
Nayarra, Zaina and Zimira.
The competition will be quite a tough one in the race, but Gathering seems to be in a very good position at the moment. She is carrying a perfect momentum, thus the punters are likely to risk the maximum number of bets on her.
The three-year-old filly has participated in a couple events until now and her performances in them were extremely good. She was unable to finish in the top three on her debut, but improved afterwards and took the top spot in her next race.
This would have given her a lot of confidence and if she continues performing in a similar way, she will definitely bring up her second victory at Goodwood today. She will be partnered by seasoned jockey, William Buick, who has won quite a few events at
this level. However, his strike is not much impressive, which is not a positive sign at all.
On the other hand, Coquet will also be the one to watch out for in the race. She is in very good shape at the moment and it will be a good choice to risk some bets on her today. However, things will not be easy for her, as she will be up against some very
good runners.
The three-year-old filly has entered three races until now, winning a couple of them. She will be chasing a hat-trick of victories today.
Coquet will be ridden by Robert Havlin, who has been in the sport for quite some time, but lacks consistency. His poor strike rate will discourage the punters from risking money on him.
Other than the top two favourites, Estrela will also be the one to watch out for in the race.
