Gattuso quashes retirement talks despite suffering from double vision: Serie A news
A.C Milan midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gennaro-Gattuso-c14525, has rejected talks of his retirement despite suffering from double vision.
Gattuso might miss the action for good part of 6-8 months but the veteran midfielder has not given up on his professional career. The former Italian international has made only one appearance in the ongoing season and is dearly
missed by his team.
Reports in the media circulated that the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 star is deciding to quit after struggling with the problem but Gattuso has vowed to return soon.
The 33-year-old admitted that he feared that the problem might spell the end of his playing career but he is desperate to get back to playing. The midfielder confirmed that he is training with the rest of the squad but he cannot
play.
While talking to the reporters, Gattuso said, “There was a time when I thought the worst, but I want to get back to playing football. It’ll take more than this to beat me. The important thing is to not give up. I can train, but
I can’t play because I have double vision.”
Gattuso confirmed that he will undergo an operation in the near future and will miss out on at least four months of action. The former Perugia star admitted that Club Vice-President, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Adriano-c3773 Galliani, has full supported him and
has assured him that he will be used in another role.
“After 50 days out, I’ll need to wait another four months before an operation can take place to resolve everything. About 25 days ago there was the risk that I could be forced to retire. The first thing that Vice-President Adriano
Galliani said to me was to not worry because the club could use me in other ways.”
The Italian was heavily linked with a move to Russian side, Anzhi Makhachkala, throughout the summer transfer window but after the ongoing problem the Dagestan club might pull back on the move.
Milan have had a slow start to the 2011/12 season and have picked up 11 points from 7 games played thus far. The Italian Champions will take on Parma in their next league game.
