The legendary AC Milan midfielder remarked that he knew the time had come to leave the San Siro outfit, as there was anarchy made its way in the locker room.
The former Rangers midfielder had a long and illustrious career with the Milanello, and had a career spanning 13 years at the Giuseppe Meazza outfit. Gattuso made a name for himself as the tough tackling midfielder at the club, and commanded great respect
all across Europe for his resilient and consistent performances.
The Italian national was one of the few players to have been offered a contract after their contracts ended, but Gattuso made his mind up that he was going to quit the club for a new challenge. There were reports linking the midfielder with a move to his
former club, the Scottish giants, Glasgow http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Sion-c39212.
The Italian was talking to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 Football and he reflected on the instances which compelled him for not continuing with the Diavolo giants. He complained that there was a lack of respect by the younger players, and a blatant disregard of the rules. The
change in behaviour at the club was a major reason for his decision to leave and he went on to state:
“When we had training at 9.30am, many arrived just 10 minutes beforehand and nobody would say anything. I’d arrive 45 minutes early in order to do some exercises, get a massage or even just to relax with a cup of coffee. That’s the sporting culture you get
after years of experience.”
The fact that the code of conduct at the club was being breached so openly and without any repercussions left a bad impression on the player. He went on to state that he was not respected like before and remarked:
“The thing that really annoyed me was that nobody said anything. I no longer felt like Rino Gattuso in that locker room, so I realised it was time to leave.”
Gattuso’s departure coincided with the departure of other club legends, like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Clarence-Seedorf-c9275 and Pippo Inzaghi.
