Question:

Gauging my piercing, safe?

One my left ear, I have 3 piercings, which consist of 2 size 14 gauges and the lowest on the lobe a regular piercing. On the right ear, I have just the regular piercing. I was wondering, since I want to make the regular piercing on my right ear a 14 gauge also, is it safe to sterilize it and simply shove the gauge through and hope for the best?

  1. Yeah get a taper online, they're really cheap on Ebay. Use a clear antibacterial soap instead of vaseline or chapstick though, it's only like a dollar at wal-mart.

  2. NO! No no no no that's bad.

The regular piercing in your right ear is a size 18 gauge- you need to go to a 16 gauge first, and then down to a 14. At the VERY least, go out and buy a 14 gauge taper to help ease the 14 gauge jewelry in if you don't want to stretch to a 16 first. Don't just shove it in though; this could result in tearing, blow outs, and scaring.

    Good luck and be careful!!!!

  3. thats what i did :]

    haha

&if you want it to slide in your ear easier

you can use vaseline, but with me ididn't have any; so i used chapstick haha. may not be the wisest choice but it was brand new &my ears didn't get infected :]

  4. no its not safe.  You have to buy a taper set and get some surgilube.  But if you dont know what your doing dont do it.  go to a shop

  5. Go to the place where you got it pierced and they will properly stretch it for you
