Gambhir, who would be leading the side, said that the One Day series would be opening a new window of opportunity for the young players to prove their mettle ahead of the International Cricket Council World Cup 2011.

Gambhir said that most of the players have international level experience and this opportunity needs to be milked by the players as it would contribute in their learning credentials.
Gambhir said that the pitch is batting-friendly however they would be vying hard to set up a total of 270 to 280 runs if the light allows them.
He did not have any predictions as to who will win, but said whoever plays hard would be victorious.
Gambhir said that the young side including bowlers Yusuf Pathan and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ravichandran-Ashwin-c84208 would be able to prove their mettle to the selectors ahead of the World Cup.

Gambhir who has been handed the captaincy role for the first two ODIs for the first time in the absence of Dhoni said that he felt over the moon to be considered for such a challenge. He hoped that he could live up to the expectations of Indian selectors
