Gautam Gambhir says KKR’s next match would be against Pune Warriors not Sourav Ganguly
Kolkata http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gautam-Gambhir-c58623, has made it clear that their next Indian Premier League game against Pune Warriors would not be a clash against former skipper Sourav Ganguly.
After being ignored in the IPL auctions earlier in January 2011, the former Indian captain Ganguly, who led KKR in the previous three editions, was recently picked up by the Pune franchise as a replacement player for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashish-Nehra-c46293.
The Riders are scheduled to face their former skipper, Ganguly, in the 65th IPL game at Navi http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 on May 19.
However, the KKR captain clarified that the match would not be against any individual player and the side will look to come out with a victory.
"Whenever we play against Pune, we are against Pune not Sourav. Whosoever playing for them has no relevance for us. Whenever we play Pune, it`s KKR vs Pune and not Sourav vs KKR. As professional cricketers, we are going to play hard cricket and get the results in our favour, that is what we are looking to do in all the coming games," said Gambhir
The Kolkata team continued their ruthless march and sealed another emphatic victory in the ongoing competition. They defeated the defending champions Chennai Super Kings by 10 runs through the Duckworth-Lewis method in a rain-interrupted match on Saturday May 7, 2011.
After electing to bat first, CSK amassed a meagre total of 114 on a difficult Eden Gardens track. In response, KKR reached 61 for 2 in 10 overs when rain stopped play and the Riders were eventually declared as the winners.
