After an easy win over Deccan Chargers, Kolkata http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Knight-c71599 Riders captain Gautam Gambhir, has expressed that a winning momentum may assist them going ahead in the rest of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The most expensive player of the IPL, Gambhir, has recommended that his players take each match as if it was the first game of the IPL.
Talking about the performance of his team against Deccan last night played at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hyderabad-c792 on May 3, the 29-year-old player said that his team performed really well overall, especially the batsmen, who contributed winning knocks to set the target of 170 runs for the Chargers.
While talking to media, the left-hander stated, “Momentum is very important and when you have that momentum, you need to just keep playing well and it was a good overall performance by the entire team, if you see the batsmen, getting the total to 170 and then bowlers backing it up, so I think it was as very professional effort and now we just want to keep playing some good cricket."
Gambhir’s XI has made their place at the top of the IPL rankings after having won six matches so far. He stressed that a professional cricket player always focused on the upcoming game rather than what happened in the past. The KKR captain added that he was going to take each game seriously in the tournament. He also said that the players need to concentrate on the next game showing their professionalism.
He further explained, “We are concentrating on the next game, which is coming just after one day, so hopefully we will continue the same performance and continue the momentum into the next game as well."
On the other hand, Deccan leader, Kumar Sangakkara, was very disappointed with his performance. He said that when a team loses games consistently it hurts a lot. "Cricket also is not very good for us, we take a lot of pride in the way we play a cricket, and to loose as many games as we have done, it really hurts, it is very disappointing," Sangakkara stated.
