Indian left-handed batsman, Gautam Gambhir, said that the upcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka will provide a tough test for his side following the Lankan’s impressive showings against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755.
Both sides are all set to lock horns in a short series of five fifty-over games and a lone T20I, which gives the Men in Blue a chance to get a closer look at the conditions they will be facing during the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 World T20 Cup, scheduled for September.
The tourists surprisingly, have had an extended international break of a month and a half following their involvement in the Indian Premier League’s fifth season. This tour starts another long cricketing journey for the Asian Giants, who have a packed itinerary which runs till early next year.

Despite the gruelling nature of their schedule, the former vice-captain is staying focused and wants his side to maintain a winning tempo.
“As professional cricketers, we have to adapt to situations. Every format is different. It's important for us to start well because if we do that, we will take that confidence into the Test series (against New Zealand) and then the all-important World T20," he said.
Talking about their current opponents, Gambhir was wary of the new-found form of the Lankan team after they won their first Test series since the retirement of spin wizard http://www.senore.com/Cricket/M-Muralitharan-c1864 by beating Pakistan 1-0. They further had defeated the Men in Green in the ODI arena as well, displaying their dominance on home soil.
However, the left-hander is confident in his side’s abilities and wants his teammates to come out all guns blazing.
"They had a very good series against Pakistan and are in the winning mode. Moreover, it's their own backyard and we all know how difficult that can be... Thankfully, we have enough potential in the dressing-room and we need to go all guns blazing right from the word go to do well," said the aggressive left-hander.
The series starts on July 21 and the tour concludes with a One-Off T20, played on August 7th at Pallekele.
