Hi, We got a new car and didnt have a license plate yet but were using the toll-free road since we have the speedpass. Once we were pulled up by a cop and told that the light on the speedpass reader didnt go off and when i showed him that i have the transponder in the car, he said he will give me a warning and that i have to display it. I said ok and promptly put it up on the shield. 2 weeks later i receive a ticket for $177 (traffic school fee) or $155 (bail fee). Can i contest that ? can he do that - give warning verbal and then send a ticket later?

  1. You definitely need to fight it. What a douche bag cop!

  2. That seems unusual. However, if you do contest it, the court will only be interested in if you committed the violation. What the officer said does not have to be considered.

  3. Be very careful he may have giving you a warning but surcharge fees  you must be paid. I got parking summons and the traffic agent said not to worry that he would not process it a fee weeks later a got the summons and a late fee. Good luck
